exists in the vague place between Music For Airports and Music From The Disney

Howd we define ambient? I dont care. I dont think the artists that contributed
cared much, either, though I cant speak for all of them. Actually, not strictly
defining ambient led to quite a wide range of material. Despite the title, this
isnt necessarily a compilation to fall asleep to, though some tracks might fit
the bill. Theres contemplative flugelhorn over the backdrop of distant fireworks
(Jesse DeRosa as Shingles); serene tones buried under swaths of tape saturation
(AMULETS); rhythmic pitched-down Ambienâ„¢-hop (Angel Marcloid as MindSpring
Memories); feedback loops of self-consuming drones (the welcome return of
Nicholas Burrage, nÃ©e Szczepanik); and plain ol brilliant stupidity
(Breakdancing Ronald Reagan).
